All roles are within MCTR unless otherwise. Admin staff, research staff, students and trainees report to the Program Manager of the Executive Committee, who reports to Translational Lab Director, Research Director, and Education Director (all of the Executive Committee). These three roles report to the Director, which is the final role within the Executive Committee. The Director reports to the Scientific Advisory Committee (external to MCTR), McMaster University Governing Board (external to MCTR), and membership which includes MCTR researchers, associate members and new investigators.

Scientific Advisory Committee

The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) provides advice to the Centre Director and the Steering Committee with respect to the scientific and scholarly priorities and the overall research direction. Members of the SAC are Mindy Goldman, Adjunct Professor, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa, and Medical Director, Canadian Blood Services; Simon Stanworth, Associate Professor of Haematology and Transfusion Medicine, University of Oxford, and Consultant Haematologist for NHSBT – John Radcliffe Hospital; Aaron Tobian, Director of Transfusion Medicine Division and Deputy Director for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Pathology, Johns Hopkins Hospital; and Professor of Pathology, Medicine, Oncology, and Epidemiology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Centre Personnel

We have assembled highly-skilled faculty members from diverse, complementary backgrounds. The expertise of our faculty spans clinical medicine, hematology, laboratory medicine, basic science, research methodology and biostatistics, health care management and quality improvement, and medical education. Our commitment to bring together innovative thinkers extends to the support staff within MCTR and our national and international collaborations and partnerships.
